I see some people in the notes thinking that this is the Death card, but it’s not. It’s much funnier. It’s the Five of Cups, upright, which symbolizes like. Loss. Disappointment. Emotional Suffering. You thought you were going to get something and then you didn’t. Even more hilarious than Fox News bringing in a tarot card reader for Trump in 2024 is that same tarot reader immediately flipping over a card that says LOSER.

the journalists who stayed behind in northern gaza to report on atrocities like decomposed babies in hospital beds and patients who had been bulldozed in their tents by the idf and skeletons in the streets—now starving on camera, even as they continue to report.

the doctors who stayed behind in every single hospital and got sniped, kidnapped and tortured for their efforts. the director of al-shifa whose hands were broken and was forced to crawl on all fours. the doctors of al-amal and al-nasser hospital who were stripped and bound and beaten.

is there anything worse than watching people who are brave and conscientious and principled punished for it? people who are determined to do their duty until their last minute standing? is there anything like this, watching them waste away at their posts for five months straight?

oh he 100% doesnt know what year it is

i am not happy with our choices this election. But you should know that the reason he’s the first president to “refuse” a cognitive test is because one isn’t included in the presidential physical exam in the first place.

There was a petition of doctors who wanted Trump’s cognitive function tested during his physical exam, and everybody involved on the republican side said no, and then Trump himself actually insisted he did take one in a fit of ego. He was, as far as i can tell, the first president to ever take one while in office.

At his request for the cognitive testing, Trump’s doctor administered the Montreal Cognitive Assessment which is like 5 questions and has not been proven to be an accurate test of much at all. It’s a lot like when you hit your head and they ask you the date and your name and stuff – answering correctly in no way means you don’t have a head injury or concussion or whatever, it’s just a couple of first step questions. Then Trump said a lot of lies and bullshit about his “cognitive test”

Now republicans and right leaning publications are spreading shit like this. Biden didn’t “refuse” a cognitive test, his aides confirmed that, as usual, a cognitive test is not included during the president’s doctor visit.

again, i think our choices are shit this election, i don’t like how old Biden is, and i think the way our first-past-the-poll voting system automatically results in an extremist two party system fronting candidates that the majority of the country doesn’t like is some fucked up bullshit

but our house is on fire and one candidate is a bucket of water that won’t help much and the other is a bucket of gasoline, and, y'know, angry as i am about it all i am still going to vote for the bucket of water while we look for other solutions

Don’t let them trick you into letting gasoline get thrown on this fire please

At this point I’m not even posting this for politics reasons, I’m posting it because my GOD you gullible bitches need to learn how extremely basic propaganda works. Jesus christ.

Remember, Sky News is Murdoch Media and Fox News with a different accent.

I still think that a key function of the way we think of the concepts “adult” and “child” is to separate the human population into “people who deserve autonomy but no protection” and “people who deserve protection but no autonomy” and in the process dehumanize both groups of people. We ignore the fact that all people need both autonomy and protection, and that our society could easily be set up to provide everyone a healthy mix of both.

And to be honest much of what we label as “protection” for children and “autonomy” for adults is merely the appearance of such. We act as if dictating what children are allowed to say, think, or feel is a form of care, and as if cutting away all social safety nets for adults is a form of empowerment.

what was the first media that you can consciously remember scaring the piss out of you and giving you nightmares (examples listed are specific to me I was a cowardly ass child)

horror movie you should not have been watching aged fucking eleven (the shining)

horror show your uncle let you watch (buffy, x files)

legitimate children’s horror (goosebumps, etc)

adult horror comedy (Beetlejuice, little shop of horrors, etc)

kid show parody horror episode (hash slinging slasher)

“scary” scene from an adventure movie (Jumanji, princess bride, Indiana jones)

I could see why a kid would be scared of that (monsters from sesame Street)

weird commercial that made you scared

not remotely scary comedy (look who’s talking, osmosis Jones, etc)

your best friend’s older brother’s vague description of a horror movie he watche

I keep seeing ads for cotton candy flavored vape pods on tumblr and it made me wonder…

Not to sound like an ad survey (sorry), but honesty hour: do you smoke, vape or otherwise consume anything with nicotine in it?

Daily or weekly, and honestly I might be at least a little addicted to it

Daily or weekly but I don’t think I’m reliant on it at all

Sometimes to occasionally take an edge off, or only socially (1-2x per month)

Only a cigar or something similar on rare special occasions (1-2x per year)

I regularly smoked/vaped/consumed nicotine in the past but now I don’t

I consumed nicotine in the past and wasn’t interested in trying it again

I’ve never consumed a product containing nicotine but would try it if offered

I’ve never consumed a product with nicotine and have zero interest in doing so

For one reason or another, none of these answers apply to me

Why/Why not in the tags?

I’m interested because I feel like when I was in high school/college in the mid-10s, almost nobody smoked - even if you otherwise had some pretty hard vices. I think it was considered not really worth it for something with such a small buzz. But now, idk. Maybe the advertisers are right to target people here because it’s just that popular again??

So many TV shows/movies depict the Epi Pen as a total solution for anaphylaxis…it’s not. The Epi Pen gives you 30 minutes to get to a hospital where they can save your life. TV makes it look like you just have to use the Epi Pen and then the crisis is over. Do people without allergies or a loved one with allergies know that an Epi Pen only buys you time? The more I see this on TV the more I worry…

**Maybe you should reblog this because I’m actually worried that most people don’t know.

Omg so much this! I have to use my epipens about three times a year and my doctor recommends I shoot both of them in my thigh and then call an ambulance! They are a STABILISER not a cure!!

EPI and NARCAN are both stabilizers.

After use, you STILL need to go to HOSPITAL!!!

Being a pharmacy technician, yes, this is very common and yes, the directions by default do tell patients or anyone administering either one to call 911 and seek emergency help.
